Now that the weather is starting to warm up, get out into the great outdoors again with your pup on this dog-friendly day trip to Paris Mountain State Park! After just a 15 minute drive from downtown Greenville you’ll be surrounded by 1,540 acres of wooded solitude! With Memorial Day just around the bend, it’s the perfect spot for a quick trip out into nature.
Paris Mountain State Park has a pretty extensive and varied trail system. The trails range from the flat, easy-to-walk trail around Lake Placid, the main lake at the base of the park, to the leg stretching and heart pumping trail at the top of the mountain that leads to down West Lake.
When you stop at the entrance to pay your $5 per person fee, talk to a ranger and pick a trail that sounds interesting to you. As long as you’re out in the woods, your dog isn’t likely to be picky on which path you choose!
So go ahead, pack a picnic lunch, and head out with your human and canine family members for some fun in Greenville’s closest state park. You’ll be glad you did (and so will your pup)!
