Making Valentine’s Day Special For Your Dog

Pug dog dressed upValentine’s Day is just around the corner. Whether or not you’re planning to celebrate with humankind, here are a few simple ways to make your dog feel special. No one plans on forgetting to mark this special day, but if you do, chances are better than even your dog will still be on good terms with you on the 15th!

Go On An Outing

Most dogs love getting out and seeing the world. A trip to one of Greenville’s several dog parks or a walk on a favorite trail is a great way to treat your dog to something special. Doing activities together, especially those involving exercise, are a great way to bond with your canine.

Get Them Looking Their Best

Dogs really appreciate being clean and trimmed, just like we do. Consider scheduling a grooming appointment to get your dog spruced up and looking their best. Whether you chose a deluxe visit to the local groomer or just a trip to the bathtub at home with a nail trim from you, this is a great way to show your dog you care about their well-being

Take Them To Pick Out A Special Toy

Load up your dog and take them to the local pet store to pick out a new toy. Whether it is a rope bone, Kong, or stuffed toy, it’s hard to find a dog that doesn’t light up at the prospects of something new to chew on. Then when you get home, spend some time playing together with your dog’s new toy.

More than new toys or trips to the groomer, your dog wants most of all just to interact with you. Spending time playing with, walking, and petting your dog is the best way to let them know you love them. After all, that’s really what Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating.
