Now that winter time is quickly becoming a thing of the past, it’s time to shake off that cabin fever and get out into the action with your canine. Greenville’s two public dog parks give you some great options for getting out of the house and into some action.
Pelham Mill Dog Park
If you live in the northern part of Greenville like we do, the Pelham Mill Park likely offers the closest dog park. The Pelham Mill Dog Park is located in a 13-acre park that sports a walking trail, dog park, and borders the Enoree River. The dog park itself is a large fenced in area for letting your dog run out their wiggles and meet some new friends. A nice walking trail in the park makes for a nice cool down activity after some heavy duty romping in the dog park!
In the event you’re up for taking in some local history while there, the remains of an old mill site are there for viewing in its original location beside the Enoree River. The old Pelham Mill Post office built in 1870 also calls the park home. The post office was moved there when Highway 14 was widened some years back.
Cleveland Park Dog Park
The second dog park in Greenville is located at Cleveland Park. This dog park is the older of the two dog parks in the county and is operated by the City of Greenville. There is a similar setup to the dog park at Pelham Mill Park with a nice, large fenced-in area with lots of space for tossing a frisbee or tennis ball or for wrestling with some new-found friends. Several benches and swings offers sitting space for dog owners as they visit with each other and watch their dogs burn off some steam.
The next opportunity you get for a few hours of free time, set your sites on one of these dog parks for a fun afternoon with your dog!
