Asheville is a great place to get outdoors too! With generally lower temperatures and humidity, it’s a strong candidate for an afternoon out with your dogs. Whether you live there or are coming up from Greenville for the day, here are a few places to consider taking your pups when you’re in the area.
Biltmore House Gardens
The Biltmore House gardens are dog-friendly! Although your dog won’t be able to come along for a tour of the house, the grounds and gardens are open for two and four-legged visitors. There are some really pretty areas at the Biltmore House gardens for both of you to enjoy!
The downtown and River Arts District of Asheville are both great places to walk your dogs! Shady streets are pretty easy to find and there are some nice green spaces to sit down and enjoy the day. When you’re there, be sure to stop by Three Dogs Bakery. They’re a full-service dog bakery that’s bound to have some type of treat your dog will love!
Don’t let the name turn your off, this is a fun hike right off the Blue Ridge Parkway close to town. It’s mostly level, so your four-legged companion won’t have to do much scrambling to get there. Graveyard Fields trail that passes by Second Falls, a beautiful waterfall that’s pretty impressive. Fall is the best time to visit here when it’s cooler and the colors of the leaves are at their peak!
